A Norwich For Jobs partner organisation, Talent Match is launching a project, which seeks donations of smart clothing for interviews
Talent Match New Anglia is a consortium of organisations led by The Prince’s Trust. It is in year 4 of a 5-year project (Jan 2014 – Dec 2018) and will engage, inspire and support 1318 young people (aged 18-24) from the most deprived areas in New Anglia who have been unemployed for 12 months or more. Our Youth Advocates in Norwich, Ipswich, Lowestoft and Kings Lynn support young people to break down barriers preventing them moving towards work or education.
New-U is an initiative created by Talent Match Core Youth Forum. The emphasis is on providing unique work experience placements for young people and the clothes swap/loan is the means to enable this to happen. New-U will be opening a ‘non payment’ shop in the Castle Mall Shopping Centre in Norwich in Autumn 2017, the shop will operate on the basis of donate, swap or loan;
- Customers will donate items of clothing and accessories they no longer need and choose items to take away for free, and
- The shop will provide 'smart' clothes for any occasion to young adults (16-30) who could not otherwise acquire suitable clothing for job interviews or similar occasions
We would be grateful for donations of smart clothing for the clothes loan scheme, and good quality undamaged clean items for the swap. Of course, you may prefer to hold on to your ‘swap’ items until we are open for business, but if you are happy to donate please visit us at the Norwich 4 jobs market stall on 27th September to drop off your items.
